H.I.E is an early thirties guy who’s recently moved away from the epicenter of cool, and is struggling to re-envision life based on less superficial things than favorite bands, good style, and good taste in whisky. He has an extremely steady job (for now), and owns an apartment. H.I.E. spent maybe 5 years of his life in the Greenpoint-Williamsburg-Bushwick hipzone, until he had the opportunity to buy a cheap apartment. Always concerned with maximizing his dollar, H.I.E. found the perfect combination of value, safety, convenience, and price in a little-travelled neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY.
Now he’s basically a hermit in exile in what amounts to an extension of Long Island. For those of you who don’t know what that means, it’s like a piece of middle America made up of middle class italian, irish, russian, etc families, and aging retirees. There is so little focus on being in style or culturally sophisticated in this neighborhood there’s nothing to do but shift to a different set of priorities. On the whole, H.I.E. thinks it’s about time he grew up and faced real life with the majority of Americans. On the other hand, it sucks to be so uncool now. Prepare to be whined at.
